Focus: Creating light and movement.HOW THIS WORKSHOP WORKS
This is a guided workshop where artist Stephanie Weaver will walk you through how to paint a particular subject using an alla prima technique (meaning all at once), which will result in a finished painting you get to take home!
WHO IS THIS CLASS FOR
Must be 16 years and up:
This class is ideal for students who have had some previous drawing or painting instruction and who want to improve their skills using oils.
WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
Introduction to Gamblin Radiant Oil Paints:
Discover the unique properties and vibrant hues of the Gamblin Radiant Oil Paint Collection.
Learn how to select and mix these colors to achieve a luminous and dynamic palette.
Palette Knife Techniques:
Master the basics of palette knife painting, including how to hold and maneuver the knife for different effects.
Explore various strokes and textures to create depth and dimension in your artwork.
Creating a Landscape Painting:
Follow step-by-step instructions to compose and execute a beautiful landscape scene, similar to the provided example.
Learn how to layer colors and build texture to depict elements like mountains, skies, water, and foliage.
Color Mixing and Blending:
Understand the fundamentals of how to blend Radiant colors for harmonious and eye-catching effects.
Experiment with mixing techniques to achieve realistic and abstract interpretations of your landscape.

Odorless mineral spirits for brush cleaner (like Gamsol) . NO TURP!

Graphite paper (in this class Stephanie will have you trace, if you'd like to learn her drawing techniques I'd recommend attending her weekly paint sessions).
