The evening will start with Carolyn guiding a Yoga Nidra Meditation. Nidra Means “Sleep” and the practice is a more efficient and effective form of Psychological and Physical rest than conventional sleep. Yoga Nidra is a meditation script that guides you to a restful sleep state. It also connects you to the deepest state of awareness to dissolve emotional exhaustion. A 45 minute session of Yoga Nidra is equal to 3 hours of restful sleep, and is very beneficial if you have insomnia, restless sleep, or nightmares.
As Carolyn is guiding this meditation Nicole will be playing peaceful sounds (crystal bowls, gong, wind chimes) throughout the Nidra. After the Nidra has concluded Nicole will then complete the session with a relaxing Sound bath.
A Sound Bath involves therapeutic sounds and vibrations to promote relaxation and healing. It is referred to as a “bath” because you are being bathed in gong and crystal bowl sound waves. The auditory stimuli of the sound bath process lead to a form of beneficially modified brainwave frequencies. The first brainwave state to be reached is alpha, which is between 8 and 12 Hz. Alpha brainwaves are associated with creativity and feelings of relaxation. This state is then followed by the theta brainwaves which fall between 4 and 7 Hz. The theta brainwave state is associated with deep meditation, hypnosis and REM sleep. sound baths can help reduce stress, activates the parasympathetic nervous system, liberate emotional blockages, and help manage various ailments
During your session you will be lying down on a provided yoga mat with a few blankets and bolster for your comfort.
