Join Doctor Helen - aka The Art Doctor for this amazing opportunity to try your hand at Pyrography. Would you like to learn a new, addictive, enjoyable skill which has its roots in nature and ancient cultural traditions.
In a step by step, easy to follow workshop you can learn wood burning skills - with no prior experience and completely suitable for beginners.
You will be taught how to hold your pyrography tool safely. How to make a variety of marks on wood, as well as how to burn different shades to create tonal depth.
You will have ample opportunity to experiment with scale and composition, by creating -
A small wood slice to test your skills,
A chopping board or plaque/panel design
And a large wooden slice design.
You will be encouraged and assisted to create your own designs. Inspiration images with be provided, but feel free to bring along any imagery you might like to try. Once your designs have been burned into the natural wood you will be shown how to seal them with Danish oil.
Bring along your packed lunch and drinks. Hot drinks and snacks will be available throughout the day.
