During this one day course students will learn the basics of flint knapping and the techniques they’ll need in order to create functional stone tools.��We will discuss and demonstrate methods of removing flakes from bigger pieces of stone in order to be used for smaller items. ��Students will gain knowledge in historical use of stone tools, sourcing stone, knapping tools, correct techniques, creating platforms, percussion & pressure flaking ��The course will focus on students creating blades and microliths for all manner of stone tools uses, including making drill tips, cutting blades, points and scrapers.
