This is an opportunity for you to have a one-to-one session with a professional architect who will listen to how they can support you in your process as well as have the chance to review your individual portfolio & progress to offer personalised guidance.

The D-Lab Architectural Apprentice Accelerator is a series of education and mentoring programmes in Newham, East London where young adults will be introduced to some of the key skills architectural assistants require alongside support in finding employers who deliver the apprenticeship scheme. The primary aim is to assist and empower those seeking to enter careers in architecture & design by engaging with a cross section of design and fabrication experiences.

D-Lab is a community-interest company that aims to be a catalyst for creativity and innovation for the benefit of people, places and our planet.

Basia Swierc

Head of Architecture Programme/Curriculum Delivery. March, ARB/RIBA Part 3 Architect

With 10-year experience in the industry, Basia is passionate about empowering younger generations towards designing regenerative and inclusive architecture. Any questions regarding your future career as well preparing you to apply to unis with a great portfolio or develop a project you are currently working on. Her past and present collaborations include RIBA, Scale Rule and Open City (Architecture in Schools).

Valeria Armendáriz

Architectural Mentor & curriculum delivery

AA Diploma March ARB/RIBA Part 2 Architect

Valeria studied in London at the Architectural Association. She can help you build your portfolio as well as guide you towards using this to get into uni or to apply for jobs. She is passionate about designing towards an adaptive architecture that can change our relationship to the land we build on and with each other.

You can request to to have a session with either one of them and if you are not sure thats ok!

There is a small £5 Administration fee with this event.
