Lighthouse Collaborative Summary: All Lighthouse schools open their doors to a citywide audience to share promising practices within an instructional focus area. The Lighthouse Collaborative (LC) is a cross-district instructional improvement initiative designed to support the Chancellor’s Four Pillars, with an emphasis on expanding our ability to “scale, sustain and restore what works” through collaborative inquiry and sharing of promising practices. All Lighthouse Collaborative schools open their doors to a citywide audience to share promising practices within an instructional focus area.

At this Lighthouse Collaborative visit, participants will:
- Learn about the school practices that develop strong literacy and math programs, including “What I Need” (WIN) periods, also known as strategic reading and strategic math classes.
- See how teachers customize classroom instruction to meet the needs of each child.
- Explore various data sources used to make leadership decisions to promote success for all students.
At the end of the day, visitors will have the opportunity to plan how these practices can be incorporated into their own work.
