FEATURE ARTISTS

DRS
Space Cadet / Shogun Audio / The North Quarter / UK
++~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~++
Decades into a remarkable career that has spanned seven albums and countless pieces of honest, inward, and elegantly narrated music, it's only now that DRS is sharing music with the world that is the purest reflection of himself.
DRS (Dirty Rap Scallion) is a British rapper, born Delroy Pottinger. He was one third of UK hip hop trio, Broke 'n' £nglish, and has collaborated with the likes of Calibre, Marcus Intalex, Lynx, LTJ Bukem, Icicle and LSB. His music is the sound of an artist becoming a master of his domain, a wry look at life underpinned by honesty and great writing. As a creative he works across different disciplines: music, film and art.
His success as an artist boils down to his refusal to speak on anything other than his truths, something that listeners can identify with, this is highlighted by three award wins at the Drum & Bass awards: Best MC, Best Vocalist and he featured on the Still Standing Remix which was awarded best remix. He is the go-to host for some of the finest that electronic music has to offer, from Calibre to Toddla T.
In the 1990s, he landed a spot as the resident MC at Club Xtreme and came into contact with drum and bass artist LTJ Bukem and rapper MC Conrad. At the time, DRS was one of only a few rappers who could keep up with the fast speed of drum and bass, going on to appear on many of Bukem's tracks. DRS’ Manchester movements also saw his Broke’N’£nglish hip hop collective support the likes of Jurassic 5, Mobb Deep and Wu Tang Clan in the 90s.
After releasing his debut LP 'Grown Man Biznizz' in 2011, he quickly followed up with his sophomore album in the form of 'I Don't Like Usually MC's But...' a year later, featuring collaborations with the likes of Dub Phizix, Calibre, dBridge, Lenzman and, S.P.Y. Then, in 2015, DRS released 'Mid Mic Crisis', his third extended body of work. It was this album that acted as host to 'The View', a collaboration with LSB and Tyler Daley which has since established itself as one of the most iconic drum and bass tracks of the past decade.
Following a quieter release period, 2019 saw DRS release two albums in the space of twelve months. First, the Manchester-based wordsmith released 'From The Deep', a hip-hop soul project on his own Space Cadet imprint, before dropping his first collaborative project with LSB in the shape of 'The Blue Hour'. In 2020, DRS and fellow MC Dynamite signed to Hospital Records as a duo, with this period seeing the pair release their 'Playing In The Dark' LP.
Most recently, DRS has released 2 albums by the name of 'Light Language' in 2021 and ‘Del-Rok-Ski’ in 2022, the latter of which was released on Shogun Audio.
On top of his non-stop writing schedule DRS keeps the diary busy with club shows and festivals all over the UK and Europe including 2023 performances at Waterworks Festival and Boomtown Fair, a full band live show at Islington Assembly Hall in London as well as a trip down under appearing at Northern Bass Festival in New Zealand. Make sure to tap into his brand new album “Everything Must Go” on Space Cadet, out on all platforms now.

LSB
Footnotes / Spearhead Recs / Soul:r / UK
++~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~++
“If there's one drum 'n' bass producer you should get accustomed with this year, it's LSB. His productions are super smooth rollers and his deck selection's always on point” – Mixmag, 2015
LSB’s first forays into drum and bass came in the early 2000’s as the co-promoter of the hugely successful ‘Bounce’ nights in Norwich. Cutting his teeth behind the decks as one of the resident DJ’s, he had already turned his hand to production by the time the team behind Bounce called it a day in 2007. His first productions surfaced on the now defunct imprints Bingo Beats (run by the legendary DJ Zinc) & Deep Soul Music in 2007-08. After a small hiatus spent honing his craft, he returned with fresh music in 2011 and his stock has been rising ever since.
‘All Of My Love’ / ‘Rolling Sideways’, released on BCee’s Spearhead Records, was the first of this new wave of productions and exhibited his new prowess in the studio and a more expressive, melodic sound that quickly became his trademark. Further releases on Spearhead quickly followed in the shape of the ‘Overthinking EP’, ‘The Hurting’ and more, as well as making a choice appearance on Artificial Intelligence’s Integral label with the hugely popular ‘Rotary Motion’ / ‘Serendipity’ 12” in collaboration with Technicolour & Komatic (now Technimatic of Shogun Audio).
By now, his blend of soulful musicality with dancefloor weight had won him a myriad of fans across the globe. Gigging across the UK and Europe to captivated audiences in 2014, he still found the time to remix ‘Serendipity’ for Integral, drop ‘XLRS’ on Shogun Audio as part of their 10 year compilation album as well as feature on Tokyo Prose’s hugely popular ‘Presence’ LP. A remix of London Elektricity’s ‘Vapour Trails’ followed as part of the Hospitality 2015 album before he featured on the sophomore DRS album ‘Mid Mic Crisis’.
‘The View’ was the stand-out track from a stand-out album, with his delicate instrumentation & arrangement perfectly complimenting Tyler Daley’s haunting vocals and DRS’ insightful lyricism. Having already impressed Soul:r boss Marcus Intalex with his music, a solo EP for the label came in the shape of volume 3 of the popular ‘Four:Fit’ series. The EP’s 4 tracks found their way into the sets of countless A-List Dj’s and showed a diversity in style, approach and a confidence gained from the ease with which his music fitted into the discography of one of the most respected labels in D&B.
Over the last few years LSB has gone on to release on some of the genre’s most respected record labels including Shogun Audio, Metalheadz, RAM Records and Critical Music, whilst also starting his own imprint ‘Footnotes’ in 2018. As well as continuously releasing music LSB also keeps up an impressive touring schedule, regularly playing festivals across the UK and Europe including Exit Festival in Serbia, Liquicity Festival in the Netherlands, Hospitality in Croatia and Waterworks Festival in London. His club gigs are also on the up touring both as a solo DJ and alongside esteemed vocalist DRS for their ‘Space Age; series.
With a wealth of new music on the way, a busy 2024 schedule still to be announced and a return to North America, LSB is firmly cementing himself as one of the standout producers and DJs in drum and bass.

LUNCHMONEY
DnB Tuesdays Seattle / Soma / WA
++~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~++
In 2000 Lunch got his first pair of Technics and began a passion for music that crosses all genres—with drum and bass remaining his one true love. Fuzing Jungle with Liquidfunk, halftime and dark rollers with hip hop heavy influence is on the menu, Lunchmoney’s style is fluid, smooth on point for any event. Strictly a DJ, he just simply wants to make people smile and dance, forget their troubles for a few minutes as the DJ's he grew up loving did for him. Shortly after moving to Seattle in October 2009, he became a resident for Soma as well as Dnb Tuesdays Seattle and has remained a staple DJ for Seattle drum and bass culture. Opening for the likes of Calibre, Jubei, Commix, DLR, Ant TC1, Total Science and many more, when Lunch is served...it's always on time.

MC Questionmark (JUICE resident / Portland/LA/UK)
++~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~++
Hailing originally from London, MC Questionmark is one of the most recognized voices to be found across the landscape of the North American drum and bass scene.
Born and raised in Southeast London, Questionmark, (aka Devon Andrew Morgan), moved to Los Angeles, California in 1987; encouraged by his parents to attend college stateside. Once settled in LA, Questionmark completed a degree in business administration at the LA Trade Tech College and Cal State University LA.
Growing up immersed in the acid house and techno scene that was blossoming in the UK in the early 90s, his time was split between the two countries. Influenced heavily by his Jamaican roots, he was drawn to deep reggae sounds like the Coxson Sound System (which Soul II Soul emerged from); and international rare grooves, soul and jazz. Attending his first Sunday Roast at its original location in Linford Studios, Questiomark was exposed to jungle through emerging heavy hitters like Fabio, Grooverider, Jumping Jack Frost, and DJ Ron. After hearing MC Moose, he was immediately drawn to drum and bass and the medium of emceeing.
Slowly finding his affinity for DnB, Questionmark connected to the early LA jungle scene through artists like R.A.W., who were playing the type of sound that he was craving. But there was no emcee. Hoping to bring a taste of London back to the U.S., he offered his services and never looked back. He became resident emcee at the first West Coast DnB weekly night “Science” (started by enthusiast/publisher of URB Magazine Raymond Roker), and hosted another “Atmospheric” night at the Viper Room. Over the years he had the opportunity to emcee many great events with pivotal artists in the genre like Krust, Dynamite MC, Doc Scott, Bryan Gee, Jumping Jack Frost, J Magick and LTJ Bukem. He grew his name and style over the next two decades, playing cities across the states like Honolulu, San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago, St. Louis, Minneapolis, Detroit, New York, Miami, Atlanta, Vancouver, BC., San Juan Puerto Rico, and many more.
Honing his craft and feeling a great response from the crowds, Questionmark has gone on to emcee (both locally and internationally) for huge influencers of the industry like Roni Size/Reprazent, Andy C, Ed Rush, Fierce, Nico, Trace, Bailey, Ink, John B, Bad Company, A Guy Called Gerald, DJ Rap, Jumping Jack Frost, Bryan Gee, Dom and Roland, Doc Scott, Simon "Bassline" Smith at the Planet V parties for V Recordings. Staying relevant to the stateside scene, Questionmark has tracked down some of the best shows, emceeing for domestic talent such as DJ Craze, Dieselboy, Dara, DB, AK1200, UFO!, Sage, Hive, Phantom 45, Fury, Danny the Wildchild…the list goes on. His passion for the music and soul behind DnB has led this journey.
Says Questionmark, “I want to take this music to the masses. Drum and bass is one of the first genres that came from the streets of London, intertwined with roots from Caribbean sounds mixed with the England vibe. I have always wanted to represent these underground sounds….I want people all over to know that even the ghetto has an artistic impact worldwide."
Based in Portland, Oregon, and working on a variety of creative pursuits and music projects, you can catch Questionmark all over the states, as a resident emcee of JUICE Drum and Bass, or pond-hopping to the UK at select events.
