We're looking forward to having Clive back at The Glen!
£45 per session / £10 pp to spectate.
Everyone is welcome! You do not need to be a western rider to take part in our clinics.
Please get in touch if you'd like to book in.
Clive is happy to work with you on your groundwork or your riding, helping you to work on your partnership with your horse, teaching various behavioural and communication techniques, and you are free to choose what you would like to work on in your session(s).
Session topics can include:
-Getting (more) familiar with working in the roundpen / advanced work in the roundpen
-Partner-up with your horse / learning how to create a relationship between human and horse
-Taking things further in the roundpen with long lining, working with the horse at liberty, etc
-Working on specific things such as lateral movements either on the ground or ridden
-Working on getting your horse used to "scary" objects
-Help with starting young horses
-Working with “problem” horses: The session can be spent working on a particular “problem” you might have with your horse (on the ground or ridden)
-etc
The clinic is suitable for those with young horses who would like to get them used to a clinic environment and for those who are only just starting out on their horsemanship journey and are keen to not only further their riding, but also their understanding of horses and how to communicate with them and be around them. Clive also enjoys working with “problem” horses and horses with behavioural issues.
Clive has spent lots of time in the USA, training with some of the best trainers such as Buck Brannaman and Brent Graef. He rode in the well-known Legacy Of Legends in Texas and spent time in Montana interning on a ranch. He also qualified as an International Horse Agility Accredited Trainer.
His natural ability to share his knowledge means he puts people at ease and makes learning fun.
We're really excited welcome him back to Blackford Glen.
Spaces are limited, so please get in touch with us via the page or email us at [email protected] to book your space.
Disclaimer: In the past, we’ve unfortunately had several people pulling out of our clinics at the very last minute. This meant we were unable to fill the slots at short notice, resulting in our having to make up the deficit ourselves.
We therefore require advance payment.
Sessions are £45 and, once confirmed, must be paid for in advance. No refunds can be given for sessions cancelled less than seven days before the event.
Stabling and grazing is available for £5/night/horse for grazing and £10/night/horse for stabling.
Folk new to Blackford Glen and English riders and their horses are always welcome too!
Please get in touch as soon as possible if you would like to book in.
