Have you ever wondered how honey is made or wanted to try your hand at beekeeping? Whether you're curious about local pollinators, looking to support the bees, or ready to start your own hive, this hands-on Beekeeping for Beginners class is for you!
Join us at Heirloom Springs, nestled in the beautiful foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, for a fun and educational experience!
✨ What to Expect:
Hands-on experience with local beekeepers and hive management techniques
Learn the essentials of bee health and how to care for your own hive
Discover the joys and rewards of beekeeping, from starting your own hive to maintaining it
Weather permitting, enjoy a farm tour with a closer look at our apiary, where you'll get to see the bees in action!
Refreshments provided, including a honey tasting featuring our very own delicious honey! 🍯
🌟 Meet Your Instructor: The class will be led by Allison Wickham, owner of Siller Pollinator Company. Allison is an experienced mentor with over a decade of beekeeping expertise in a variety of locations and currently manages over 400 hives and has vast knowledge to share, from hive management to overcoming the challenges beekeepers face. She’s passionate about teaching and will guide you through the basics and beyond.
