Get ready for a huge Sunday session with blues rock guitar legend Phil Para and his powerhouse trio, live at Pirates Tavern from 2–5pm.Known as one of Australia’s most dynamic guitarists, vocalists and songwriters, Phil held a legendary residency at the iconic Espy Hotel in St Kilda, playing every Saturday to packed houses for over 25 years. Touring greats have dropped in to watch him play, including Metallica, Eric Burdon and Adrian Belew, and even Carlos Santana has praised Phil’s playing.
Expect a high-energy mix of Phil’s original rock, blues and Latin fusion songs, alongside classic guitar-driven favourites from Hendrix, Santana, Clapton, The Rolling Stones, Stevie Ray Vaughan and more. Phil is joined by his multi-instrumentalist son Denzil Para on drums and guitar (plus vocals) and Jason Nehill on bass.
