For Gen X, the 1980s were the cusp of adulthood, and this new music was the perfect soundtrack for charting new courses in musical identity, fashion, and fandom. We'll feature the brooding poetry of The Cure and The Smiths, the art-school cool of Talking Heads, the glamour of Spandau Ballet, wild and experimental Devo, and the dark dance energy of Depeche Mode.
