π Characters Available β Rambles On Radio π
Christopher Rambles
Confident, pompous, and convinced of his own brilliance. Christopher is a radio host and writer who clings to authority and professionalism as everything falls apart around him. Although largely talentless, he occasionally improvises well under pressure.
π€ Strong comic timing and authority needed.
β οΈ Note: This role is written as male. Permission will be required from the writer to change the role to female; however, female auditions are welcome.
βΈ»
Georgina (female)
Christopherβs timid daughter. Nervous, flat, and emotionless in her delivery, she has no natural stage presence despite her fatherβs insistence that she has βstar quality.β Her anxiety peaks during the live broadcast, leading her to flee the stage.
π Requires subtle comedy and vulnerability.
βΈ»
Charlie (male or female)
In charge of sound effects. Well-meaning but forgetful, stubbornly independent, and completely oblivious to their many mistakes. Struggles with thick-lensed glasses and mistimed cues but always believes theyβve done an excellent job.
π A strong physical and comic role.
βΈ»
Louise (female)
A nit-picking critic who constantly points out flaws in the script and performance. Sees herself as highly professional despite being far from it. Married to Martin while secretly having an affair with Harry.
π Sharp, confident, and controlling.
βΈ»
Martin (male)
Louiseβs husband. Initially laid-back and largely uninterested in the show, he remains unaware of Louiseβs affair until the live broadcast, when emotions explode.
π₯ Requires a clear shift from calm to furious.
βΈ»
Harry (male)
Pessimistic and frustrated. Secretly involved with Louise and fed up with being treated as an afterthought β both in the relationship and in the radio play, where he has only one line. When chaos strikes, Harry unexpectedly rises to the occasion and becomes central to the action.
π Strong comic versatility required.
βΈ»
π Age Guidance
Sadly we cannot accept under 18s due to chaperone limitations, other than this there are no strict age requirements, however the following will be considered when casting:
π¨βπ§ Christopher & Georgina should be age-appropriate for a believable parentβdaughter relationship
π Louise, Martin & Harry should be age-appropriate for a believable married couple and secret affair
