Meet the artists:

WOOLTON

Woolton is the project of musical soul mates Jack Howe and Alexander Raw. Fueled by a longstanding love of alt-country gems like Wilco and MJ Lenderman, the pair made it official after a life-affirming (and very sweaty) Andy Golledge gig at Old Bar in Fitzroy in late 2023. “We need to create something like this,” they thought and shortly after, Woolton was born. Self-described as “dark country twang,” the project spans Launceston (kanamaluka) and Melbourne (naarm).

GRAND BAXTER

From the forests of eastern Melbourne come Grand Baxter, an alt-folk trio combining earnest songwriting, dense textures of guitar and strings, and a humble folk charm. Inspired by Jason Isbell, John Moreland and Gillian Welch, Grand Baxter exists at the intersection of rock, folk and country.
