Sarah and Alex are excited to host the ‘very first of many’ events to follow here at Crasken Farm.
We invite all to experience the insightful knowledge of Antoni, as he brings Syntropic teachings and experiences to our very doorsteps.
We also have our resident gardener Little Miss Orchard, expressing her passion for Native Medicinal and Edible planting.
Before we break the internet, searching the topic, or tropic, lets discuss the evenings’ formalities
We are starting early at 6pm with Welcome Food and Drinks
- Serving a belly warming Lentil Curry with Flatbread. A chance to chit chat, meet among like minded souls.
The evening begins down a Native path discussing our fondness to awaken the many uses of our home plant life.
With the final destination guiding us into the world of Syntropic.
Question and Answers are encouraged, please bring all the curiosity within.
This is a great opportunity to meet and hear Antoni’s talk on Syntropic. Being his premier to talk on our homelands, before giving his presentation at this year’s Martin Crawford Agroforestry Show.
Let’s dive in! What is Syntropic?
Syntropic Agroforestry is a form of successional agriculture which focuses on creating forest conditions and fertility via regular pruning cycles, biomass generation, and maximising photosynthesis. The end goal can be tailored to the owners context, whether that's fruit & nuts, medicinals, timber, market garden or animal integration. There are syntropic examples in every climate and soil type, including really poor dead soil, which natural succession and pioneer plants can bring back to life. This practice originated 40 years ago in Brazil through dutch farmer Ernst Gotsch, who after a hurricane swept through his cacao plantation, realised the importance of pruning and moving succession forwards thanks to the immense recovery of his cacao trees.
Who is Antoni…
An inspired individual who walked away from education at the age of 14, and released 7 musical albums by the age of 21. Along with a self-published fantasy novel giving a Game of Thorns ‘era’ a zodiac twist.
During the global shift, Antoni felt a shift within and began his enthusiasm with nature, the beauty, and the infinity. So came the need to regain sovereignty over our food system, eating well, and to also implement regenerative practices that could face the test of time.
Antoni’s style of garden has the same proud crowning of my own, feral. Allowing Nature to Bee… creates havens of many nutrients and medicinals. Stimulating an enjoyment for learning through plant sensory and their herb wisdom.
By 2023, the syntropic ways had found Antoni’s journey. January 2025 kicked started the physical vision into practice at Gweek campsite.
