Start your Christmas with a host of sparkling choral gems arrangedfor upper voices. Serenata bring you traditional and modern classics,
alongside old favourites and carols, including works by John Rutter, Bob
Chilcott, Eric Whitaker, Edmund Jolliffe, Andrew Parnell, John Tavener,
Praetorius and others, in celebration of the festive season. What better
way to give a warm welcome to the spirit of Christmas!
Our programme includes ‘The Three Kings’, ‘Tomorrow shall be my
Dancing Day’, ‘The Winter’s Brightening’, ‘Glow’,
‘What Star is This’ and ‘I Sing of a Maiden’ along with some light-hearted well-known Christmas songs. There will be an opportunity for audience
participation too, so come prepared to join in!
Serenata is a vibrant choir of 25 experienced female singers drawn
from across the East of England who perform music arranged for three
or more female voice parts. Serenata is dedicated to presenting the rich
heritage of women’s vocal music in an uncompromising yet approachable
fashion.
Directed by their talented conductor Andrew Foxley and with
sensitive accompaniment from Mark Jones, the singers have a passion for
singing and for bringing to their audiences a rich mix of styles and eras of music.
