Έκθεση τέχνης Ethno☰hauntology στη Δημοτική Αγορά ΚυψέληςΠαράλληλα και σε διάλογο με το κινηματογραφικό πρόγραμμα στον κινηματογράφο NEWMAN, το Ethno☰hauntology vol1 παρουσιάζει, σε συνεργασία με τη Δημοτική Αγορά Κυψέλης, μια διευρυμένη έκθεση τέχνης με επίκεντρο την υπερμεσική εγκατάσταση Pabellón de Melancólicos.
Η έκθεση, την οποία επιμελούνται η Oderay Ponce de León και η Άννα Γράδου, χαράζει μια γραμμή που συνδέει ανάλογα φαινόμενα και μνήμες της Ελλάδας και της Λατινικής Αμερικής. Περνώντας μέσα από την εθνο-στοιχειοντολογική πύλη του Pabellón de Melancólicos, ο θεατής εισέρχεται σε ένα σύμπαν όπου τα φαντάσματα αντηχούν, ενεργοποιημένα από μια εξωτερική δύναμη - την καλλιτεχνική πράξη. Ως έργο που ταυτόχρονα γίνεται δίαυλος για άλλα έργα, το Pabellón de Melancólicos προκαλεί διαλόγους ανάμεσα σε οντότητες που αποδομούν τη γραμμικότητα του χωροχρόνου και προτείνει νέα εργαλεία μέτρησης της «κοινωνικο-ιστορικής πραγματικότητας». Αυτή η αλληλεπίδραση αποκαλύπτει ένα τοπίο στο οποίο κληροδοτημένες αφηγήσεις, διαδικασίες πένθους, εκδοχές του μέλλοντος και συλλογικές φαντασιακές κατασκευές συνυπάρχουν και διαπλέκονται, επιτρέποντάς μας να ανακαλύψουμε, μέσα στους άλλους και στα φαντάσματα τους, μια αντανάκλαση της δικής μας ταυτότητας.
Ηχητική περφόρμανς
Στις 21 Ιανουαρίου, στο πλαίσιο των εγκαινίων, η έκθεση θα συνοδευτεί από την ηχητική περφόρμανς Thanatolexicon, μια συνεργασία των Operador Fantasma με τον χιλιανό ηθοποιό, σκηνοθέτη και visual artist Derek Fenix. Με εργαλεία τα modular synths και samples από βινύλια, η ζωντανή ηχητική δράση δημιουργεί ένα περιβάλλον ακρόασης που ενισχύει τον διάλογο της έκθεσης με τις διαδικασίες μνήμης και τις πολλαπλές, κληροδοτημένες αφηγήσεις.
Το πολυθεματικό φεστιβάλ Ethno☰hauntology vol1 πραγματοποιείται με την οικονομική ενίσχυση του Υπουργείου Πολιτισμού και την υποστήριξη του Ινστιτούτου Θερβάντες της Αθήνας, του Ινστιτούτου INSTAR (Instituto de Artivismo Hannah Arendt) και της Δημοτικής Αγοράς Κυψέλης.

Ethno☰hauntology art exhibition at the Kypseli City Market
In parallel and in dialogue with the film programme at NEWMAN cinema, Ethno☰hauntology vol1 presents, in collaboration with the Kypseli City Market, an expanded art exhibition centered on the hypermedia installation Pabellón de Melancólicos.
The exhibition, curated by Oderay Ponce de León and Anna Gradou, traces a line connecting related phenomena and memories of Greece and Latin America. Passing through the ethno-hauntological gateway of Pabellón de Melancólicos, the viewer enters a universe where ghosts resonate, activated by an external force - the artistic act. As a work that simultaneously becomes a conduit for other works, Pabellón de Melancólicos sparks dialogues among entities that dismantle the linearity of space-time and proposes new tools for measuring “socio-historical reality.” This interaction reveals a landscape in which inherited narratives, processes of mourning, versions of the future, and collective imaginary constructions coexist and intertwine, allowing us to discover, in others and their ghosts, a reflection of our own identity.
Sound performance
On 21 January, as part of the opening, the exhibition will be accompanied by the sound performance Thanatolexicon, a collaboration between Operador Fantasma and Chilean actor, director, and visual artist Derek Fenix. Using modular synths and samples from vinyl, the live sonic action creates a listening environment that strengthens the exhibition’s dialogue with processes of memory and multiple, inherited narratives.
