BAILA at La Peña is every third Friday of the month. Doors open at 7:30 PM
Come join us at BAILA for a lively evening of Salsa music and dancing! We'll have dedicated dance floors for both Bachata and Salsa lovers. Our event is open to all ages!
Enjoy free, easy-to-follow, Gender-Inclusive Salsa and Bachata dance classes. Arrive early to savor delicious Mexican bites from Los Cilantros 🌿, our next door neighbor. We have TWO dedicated dance floors where you can sway and twirl all night long.
Visit our fundraising bar for a refreshing drink and take advantage of our complimentary coat check. Every sip supports our programming and community offerings – thank you for your support!

Getting to La Peña
There are a few ways to get to La Peña! Free neighborhood street parking is available. The 18 bus line stops right across the street at the Shattuck Ave. and Woolsey St. stop, and Ashby BART station is just 2 blocks away. Convenient bike racks are located right in front of our center. Our venue is wheelchair accessible, with a stepless entry and wide entryways.
- Paid Parking: The nearest paid parking is at the Ashby BART station, just a short walk from our venue.
- Restrooms: Our restrooms are all-gender and wheelchair accessible.
- COVID-19 Guidelines: Masks are strongly encouraged! If you are feeling unwell, please help protect our community by staying home.
- Events for All Ages: Most of our events are family-friendly. Check individual event descriptions for specific age recommendations.
- Food & Drinks: Light refreshments are often available during events, and we have Los Cilantros Mexican Restaurant open during our events for our guests looking to grab a bite before, during, or after our events.
